Over 90% of tested produce contains pesticide residues. Discover the 2025 Dirty Dozen list and learn how to reduce pesticide exposure.

The "Dirty Dozen" list for 2025, released by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), highlights the twelve fruits and vegetables with the highest levels of pesticide residues, based on data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration. Topping the list are strawberries, followed by spinach, kale, peaches, pears, nectarines, apples, grapes, bell and hot peppers, cherries, blueberries, and green beans. The EWG advises consumers to opt for organic versions of these items to minimize exposure to pesticides, although they acknowledge that both conventional and organic produce are safe and nutritious. The list aims to help consumers make informed choices about their produce purchases, emphasizing that while pesticides are used to protect crops, their residues can pose health risks.
