Hubble has spotted a quirk of nature.

The Hubble Space Telescope has discovered a new Einstein ring, named HerS J020941.1+001557, which is a rare cosmic phenomenon where light from a distant galaxy is bent and magnified into a ring shape by the gravitational pull of a closer galaxy, in this case, a massive elliptical galaxy located 6.5 billion light-years away. This discovery, detailed in a study published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, showcases the power of gravitational lensing, a concept predicted by Einstein's theory of general relativity, and provides astronomers with a unique opportunity to study the distant galaxy in greater detail, as the lensing effect acts like a natural telescope, magnifying the light from the background galaxy.
