?Thorup out, new manager sacked in the Bundesliga

On October 10, 2023, Augsburg announced the dismissal of their manager, Enrico Maaßen, following a poor start to the Bundesliga season, with the team positioned 14th after eight games, having secured only one victory. Maaßen, who had been with Augsburg since 2021, faced increasing pressure due to the team's lackluster performance, culminating in a 2-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund. The club's sporting director, Stefan Reuter, expressed gratitude for Maaßen's efforts but emphasized the necessity for a change to improve the team's standing. Assistant coach Tobias Strobl will take over as interim manager as Augsburg searches for a permanent replacement.
