Fifteen Quincy residents are suing Mayor Thomas Koch over recently discovered plans to install controversial Catholic patron saint statues on the front of the city's new public safety building.

Residents of Quincy, Massachusetts, have filed a lawsuit against Mayor Thomas Koch, alleging that he has been using a city-owned property as his personal residence without paying rent, which they claim amounts to a misuse of public funds. The lawsuit, filed in Norfolk Superior Court, seeks to have Koch evicted from the property and to recover the fair market rent for the time he has lived there. The property in question is a house on 60 Washington Street, which the city purchased in 2017 for $650,000, and Koch has been living there since 2018. The mayor's office has responded by stating that Koch pays for all utilities and maintenance costs, and that the arrangement was approved by the city council. However, the plaintiffs argue that this does not justify the mayor's rent-free living at the expense of taxpayers.
