Western Michigan University to appoint new president today

Western Michigan University has appointed Dr. Edward Montgomery as its new president, effective from August 1, 2023. Dr. Montgomery, who previously served as the dean of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park, brings extensive experience in higher education leadership and a strong commitment to student success and institutional growth. His appointment follows a comprehensive search process, and he is expected to lead the university in enhancing its academic programs, fostering research, and strengthening community engagement.
