Six new swans will call Lake Morton home, so the current flock, who descended from royal swans in England, can stay healthy and resilient.
Six swans have joined the existing flock at Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida, bringing the total number of swans to 50, as announced by the city on social media. These new additions, consisting of three male and three female swans, were introduced to enhance the genetic diversity of the flock. Lake Morton, known for its picturesque setting and popular for weddings and tourism, has been home to swans since 1957 when Queen Elizabeth II gifted the city with two swans, sparking a tradition that continues to be a cherished part of the community.
