Military specialists gather in New Hampshire for cyberattack simulation

  • Military members from around the country are in New Hampshire to simulate a cyberattack on utilities while others race to stop them.

On May 15, 2024, New Hampshire conducted a cyberattack simulation drill at the Department of Safety in Concord, involving over 100 participants from various state agencies and private sector partners. The drill, led by the New Hampshire Department of Information Technology (DoIT), aimed to enhance the state's preparedness and response capabilities to cyber threats by simulating a ransomware attack on state systems. The exercise included real-time decision-making scenarios and was designed to test and improve communication and coordination among different entities. This initiative reflects New Hampshire's proactive approach to cybersecurity, emphasizing the importance of readiness and resilience in the face of evolving cyber threats.
