Strong winds prompt new warning for New Jersey wildfires

A wildfire warning has been issued for New Jersey due to strong winds and dry conditions, with the National Weather Service forecasting wind gusts up to 40 mph, increasing the risk of rapidly spreading fires. The warning, effective from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on April 12, 2023, covers several counties including Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer, Ocean, and Salem. New Jersey Forest Fire Service's Chief Greg McLaughlin emphasized the heightened fire danger due to the combination of dry fuels and strong winds, urging residents to avoid any outdoor burning.
