Poniard Pharmaceuticals Announces It Will Seek Shareholder Approval of Reverse Stock Split at Annual Meeting

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - April 12, 2011) - Poniard Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ PARD ]), a biopharmaceutical company focused on innovative oncology therapies, announced today that it will seek shareholder approval of an authorization enabling its board of directors, in its discretion, to effect a reverse stock split in the range of 1-for-15 to 1-for-25 shares of common stock. The reverse stock split would provide the Company with a means to cure its minimum bid price deficiency for continued listing on The NASDAQ Capital Market, if such action becomes necessary. The authorization will be voted upon at the annual meeting of shareholders to be held on June 9, 2011.
