Intersil's MegaQ(TM) Adaptive Equalizer Named Finalist in 2010 EDN Innovation Awards Competition

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwire - April 6, 2011) - [ Intersil Corporation ] (NASDAQ: [ ISIL ]) announced today that its new ISL59605 adaptive equalizer IC, also known as MegaQ™, has been named a finalist in EDN Magazine's 21st annual Innovation Awards in the Analog IC category ([ http://innovation.edn.com/ ]).

MegaQ was selected as a finalist for its ability to provide composite video images over a mile, or 1.6 kilometers, of cable. It uses advanced analog and digital techniques to automatically equalize video over Cat-5 or coaxial cable. MegaQ delivers clear video images from various cable types and lengths. It automatically corrects if installers connect the twisted pair backwards, and can handle color or monochrome and NTSC or PAL signals. MegaQ requires no user interaction or adjustments to get the best performance and allows the use of existing infrastructure. Video quality does not depend on the installer.
