AS Dulat, former chief of Research and Analysis Wing and the author of the explosive memoir "Chief Minister and the Spy", said today that the book was laudatory towards the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah.

In an interview with NDTV, former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chief A.S. Dulat discussed his views on the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly focusing on the role of Farooq Abdullah and the abrogation of Article 370. Dulat expressed that his comments on Farooq Abdullah were meant as appreciation rather than criticism, emphasizing Abdullah's significant influence in the region. He also touched upon the controversial decision to revoke Article 370, suggesting that while the move was legally sound, it was executed without sufficient dialogue with the local population, which has led to ongoing tensions. Dulat advocated for a more inclusive approach to address the grievances of the people in Jammu and Kashmir and stressed the importance of engaging with local leaders like Farooq Abdullah to foster peace and stability.
