Officials with the New Orleans Police Department and city leaders cut the ribbon on a new, state-of-the-art kennel facility for the department's K-9 unit.

The New Orleans Police Department celebrated the retirement of K-9 Legend, a dedicated police dog who served for nine years. Legend, a German Shepherd, was honored in a ceremony attended by police officers, city officials, and community members. Throughout his service, Legend was instrumental in numerous operations, including drug detection and suspect apprehension, contributing significantly to the department's efforts. His handler, Officer John Smith, praised Legend's loyalty and effectiveness, noting that the K-9's retirement marks the end of an era but also a well-deserved rest for a faithful partner.
