The former welterweight champion returns to the Octagon against Joaquin Buckley at UFC Fight Night in Atlanta.

Kamaru Usman, the former UFC welterweight champion, has expressed his belief that the next generation of welterweights will be the most talented in the history of the division. In an interview with ESPN, Usman highlighted the emergence of young fighters like Shavkat Rakhmonov, Ian Machado Garry, and Jack Della Maddalena, who he believes will shape the future of the 170-pound weight class. Usman, who lost his title to Leon Edwards in August 2022, is set to face Khamzat Chimaev in a middleweight bout at UFC 294 on October 21, 2023. Despite his upcoming fight at a higher weight class, Usman remains confident in his ability to reclaim the welterweight title and is excited about the potential of the new generation of fighters in the division.
