The organization criticized Ramaphosa for not addressing the ongoing issues with Eskom, the power utility, and for failing to acknowledge the government's role in the country's challenges. AfriForum's Ernst van Zyl highlighted the contradiction in Ramaphosa's call for local solutions while the government continues to rely on foreign aid and expertise, particularly in managing Eskom. The group also pointed out the lack of progress in reducing load shedding and the government's failure to implement effective local solutions, accusing Ramaphosa of misleading the public about the state of the nation's affairs.
