  • The Boston College basketball program took a step back when the level of competition took a discernable step up in class. The Eagles fell behind by 17 points at the half and were blown out, 73-51, by South Carolina in the second installment of the ACC-SEC challenge Tuesday night at Conte Forum.

The Boston College men's basketball team faced a challenging game against South Carolina, resulting in a 75-68 loss. The Eagles struggled offensively, particularly in the first half where they shot only 30% from the field. Despite a late comeback attempt, their shooting woes continued, with key players like Quinten Post and Jaeden Zackery underperforming. Post, who averages 20.0 points per game, managed only 12 points, while Zackery scored just 6. The team's inability to convert shots, especially from beyond the arc where they went 5-for-20, was a significant factor in their defeat. South Carolina capitalized on their defensive pressure, forcing turnovers and maintaining a lead that Boston College could not overcome despite a spirited effort in the second half.
