Market Maker Surveillance Report. SVA, COCO, MWW, NEWN, CLGX, PRMW, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Tuesday, Aug
August 30, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4288 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3708 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2800 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. SINOVAC BIOTECH LTD (NASDAQ:SVA), CORINTHIAN COLLEGES INC (NASDAQ:COCO), MONSTER WORLDWIDE INC (NYSE:MWW), NEW ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP (AMEX:NEWN), CORELOGIC INC (NYSE:CLGX), PRIMO WATER CORP (NASDAQ:PRMW). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction SVA $0.570 24.15% 1,011,367 51.67% 940,322 48.04% 71,045 1,246 COCO $0.400 21.39% 5,613,699 60.28% 3,699,461 39.72% 1,914,238 47,856 MWW $1.730 21.20% 4,818,770 35.14% 4,311,514 31.44% 507,256 2,932 NEWN $0.330 17.19% 164,830 26.58% 151,017 24.35% 13,813 419 CLGX $2.560 29.12% 1,966,675 30.36% 1,912,699 29.53% 53,976 211 PRMW $1.060 18.73% 742,593 51.00% 709,116 48.70% 33,477 316Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows SVA with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.57000 and a Friction Factor of 1,246 shares. That means that it only took 1,246 more shares of buying than selling to move SVA higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
